Progress made on day 1 demolition... and the hilarity of being stuck in a human fly trap!

First load to the dump after only one day!

I think this was to show the multiple layers of linoleum on the floor

You know how on reality home makeovers....they always find a "problem"?  Yeah that really happens.  Kitchen sink leaked down to the floor joists.

Bye-bye smelly carpet and leaky ceiling!

Before the floor started coming out.

I pulled up that linoleum and the floor was so sticky I could hardly walk!

Demolition, injury, and uh oh...

Day 1, 2, and 3 have flown by and it seems like we have made soooooo much progress, and still have so far to go!  We started demolition right away and ripped out flooring, appliances, a wood burning stove, and some cabinets.  The girls even got to help tear down a wall!  Unfortunately, the nail in the bottom of that darn wall ended up in the bottom of Reese's foot and we had an impromptu trip to the doctor.  Good thing she's a tough one and we got right back into it on day 2.  Here are some fun photos to show the rapidly changing interior.

Can't even demolish a wall without fighting!

Someone finally broke through!

See that stud in the middle?  It held the nail that did the damage...
Still smiling, even with a shot on the way!

Ch ch ch changes....

We have been back in Arkansas for just over two years and already have decided to move again.  We're staying close by this time and moving to a house with 5 acres.  The home is in need of remodel, but has a good foundation and a nice layout, but we have our work cut out for us.  Instead of inundating everyone with our before, during, and after posts, I've decided to put it all on our blog.  Hopefully I can keep up with it since I'm the worst blogger in the world! Here are some before pictures:

This morning I read a devotional that made me take pause.  Of course, as all days, I had all my thoughts of what to get done, and how few hours I had to do them. Today ended up being a pretty crazy day... Lexi was ill and spent most of the day in the nurses office (this caused me to drop the original plans I had for my prep time).  Then we had a student fall ill on the playground during our lunchtime team meeting (which caused us to delay our unfinished meeting until after school).  This was all in addition to the crazy, running late for work kind of day that I normally have.    I've posted part of the devotional below. I'm so glad I read it this morning so I could handle each emergency and change of plans as they arose.

You can make some plans as you gaze into the day that stretches out before you. But you need to hold those plans tentatively, anticipating that I may have other ideas. The most important thing to determine is what to do right now. Instead of scanning the horizon of your life, looking for things that need to be done, concentrate on the task before you and the One who never leaves your side. Let everything else fade into the background. This will unclutter your mind, allowing Me to occupy more and more of your consciousness.

2013 WM Phoenix Open

Wow!  What a great day!  Lexi was one of 20 kids to caddy at the WMPO and had the most amazing experience.  She caddied for Brendon de Jonge, Rickie Fowler, and the 2012 open champ, Kyle Stanley.  After her shift on the famous 16th hole, we walked the course and saw many other great golfers including Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan, Keegan Bradley, and  Davis Love III (plus a few more).  In addition to the awesome golfers, Dierks Bentley, Michael Phelps, Ken Griffey, Jr., and Jim McMahon all played in the tournament.  It was a great experience and we're so thankful to the First Tee of Phoenix for making it happen!
